On June 29, Major General Anthony Cuculo III ’75 was profiled by Salena Zito of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on the occasion of his retirement from the United States Army. MG Cuculo has served the nation with distinction for the past 35 years. Following his graduation from Xavier, MG Cuculo entered the United States Military Academy at West Point where he studied with current Xavier Senior Army Instructor (SAI) LTC Roy Campbell.

Rev. Edward “Ned” Coughlin, S.J. ’62, the 49th Headmaster of Xavier (1984-1986), and pastor of the Church of St. Francis Xavier (1998-2006), died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, NY after a brief illness.
