The 2009 Varsity Soccer team.
The 2009 Varsity Football team.
Soccer and Football athletes honored following great seasons.
Members of Xavier's soccer and football teams were recognized for their outstanding achievements on the field on Sat., Jan. 23rd, with breakfast and awards ceremonies. Parents and special guests snapped team photos and heard from the coaches, who gave season highlights as well as individual awards.
Athletes from both soccer teams - the 6-3-3 JV team, which finished second in the CHSAA A-division and the 4-6-2 Varsity team, which finished fourth in the A-division - were at hand, and individual awards called out special accomplishments. Junior
Gianluca Masucci '11
was named the Varsity Soccer MVP. Longtime coach SFC Wayne Atherton remarked that the team's performance and confidence has improved so dramatically this season and, in addition, he
was presented with a gift to mark his his effort and determination after 15 years of coaching!
